This meditation techniques may be done while lying flat on the back or on stomach or by sitting in: comfortable posture or standing in a relaxed position. The steps to be followed are given below:
1)If you are lying on your back, this will be the natural state of following the technique.
2)Close your eyes and keep your body relaxed.
3)On flat posture, start from the toe of the right leg.
4)Visualize the toe of the right leg and the suggest that the toe of the right leg is getting relaxed. Repeat 3 to 4 times.
5)Visualize the next finger and suggest that the finger is getting relaxed. Same way visualize a the fingers and suggest that the fingers are getting relaxed.
6)Visualize each part of the right leg from sole up to the waist and suggest that they are getting relaxed. (Each part should be visualized and then suggested.
7)Start from the left toe and visualize that the toe of the left leg is getting relaxed. Repeat 3 to times.
8)Similarly visualize all fingers, leg, thigh up to the wast and suggest that each of them are getting relaxed.
9)Now visualize each part of the body from the waist to shoulder, lower part of the abdomen, upper part of the abdomen, the stomach, liver, pancreas, the lungs, the heart and suggest each of them are getting relaxed. (It is better to do the meditation by seeing a physiological chart for clear visualization).
10)Now start from the right arm thumb. Visualize the right arm thumb an feel that the right arm thumb is getting relaxed. Similarly visualize other part of the right arm up to the shoulder and suggest that they are getting relaxed. Repeat the same exercise for the left arm.
11)Visualize now from shoulder and above, mouth, nose, eyes, forehead, and upper part of the head and then suggest that it is getting relaxed. Here visualize each part and suggest.
12)This process can be repeated again as per availability of time. The exercise can be repeated while sitting on a chair or standing in a comfortable posture or lying on "Makarasan"
13)This is a complete relaxation exercise and if it is done while sleeping in the night it will induce very good sleep.
